On Wednesday, November 6, Monsignor Donovan students traveled to GISA Region 4AA One Act Competition to compete against five other schools. This year’s One Act team began rehearsals of their show, Elephant’s Graveyard, by George Brant in early August.
During the awards ceremony, Donovan was named Region Runner-Up advancing to Class AA State Competition on November 14. Junior Maddy Wickwire was named Region Best Actress and Freshman Chloe Floyd earned an Outstanding Performance Award.
Members of this year’s One Act cast and crew include: Dakota Allen, Uzo Anukam, John Baker, EJ Caparanga, Connery Dolan, Cayla Floyd, Chloe Floyd, Isabel Higgins, Sabrina Katzman, Lila McMaster, Elena Montoya, Graham Watkins, Josie Wettsaed, and Maddy Wickwire.
Congratulations! If you would like to see this team in action, join us on November 20 from 6:00-8:00 pm for Donovan’s Fine Arts Showcase titled Cirque de Arts. The state-qualifying One Act Play will perform one final time along with Ram Band, Donovan Singers, Dance, and Drama. This event will take place in the Donovan Gym at 590 Lavender Road, Athens, Georgia 30606. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students.
